Body found in fire at former meth lab

Clinton, TN - Authorities are waiting on an autopsy to identify a man found in the ruins of a fire at a mobile home in Clinton that had been quarantined after police found a methamphetamine lab there.

Anderson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mark Lucas told the Knoxville News Sentinel that investigators believe the man is the owner of the home, John Auston Lowe, but are waiting on confirmation.

The body was found Wednesday after an overnight fire and the cause of the fire is not known. The home had been closed since March when an active meth lab was found.

Lucas said a neighbor was charged with meth-related offenses in that investigation.

Mother with baby in back accused of driving while high on meth

Washoe County, NV - A 22-year-old woman remained jailed Wednesday on charges of driving under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana with her infant unrestrained in the backseat, deputies said.

Julianne Nicole Flint was booked Tuesday into the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of DUI drugs, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, child endangerment and failing to signal a lane change.

A Washoe County deputy who stopped Flint about 9 p.m. in the 9000 block of South Virginia Street saw two large truck tires in the front passenger seat and a 3-week-old baby lying on the back seat. Flint also allegedly possessed meth and marijuana.

Social workers took custody of her infant.
