North Carolina officials target La Familia

Greenville, NC - North Carolina law enforcement officials say they have curtailed a major Mexican drug cartel, arresting about 50 foreign nationals since 2007.

The announcement comes two weeks after federal agents disclosed an operation said to have crippled the "La Familia" network, one of the major drug cartels vying for dominance in the United States.

Meth lab found on moped

Auburn, IN - In DeKalb County, police seized a mobile meth lab that was on a moped.

The story comes to us from our partners at K.P.C. News.

It happened Monday around 8 p.m. on the corner of 15th St. and Touring Dr. in Auburn. Police say they discovered the lab in the compartment of a mo-ped that belongs to James Hunter.

The 31-year-old faces four drug-related charges: manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction and possession of marijuana.  He is also charged with resisting law enforcement.

Hunter is being held at the DeKalb Co. jail without bond.
