Once a group has established its team and its plan, action can take many forms.
- Building new coalitions, block-by-block if necessary
- Offering school programs
- Publicizing the meth problem through the media or individual presentations
- Connecting with families, offering information on how to spot meth problems and what to do about them
- Identify and offer help to individuals abusing meth
Again, how a meth action team works is a direct reflection of the situation in its community. It is unlikely any two teams will look or work identically.
The second key step in keeping a community action group active and relevant is to evaluate
both the team's actions and the changing landscape around it. Examples:
- If schools training fails to curb abuse among students, a new direction is required
- If meth labs suddenly begin to reappear in larger numbers, a new strategy may
have to be added
- If a large number children are being removed from meth-abusers' homes, the team may need a new plan for intervention and reuniting families.
