Meth bill passes Miss. House, goes to Senate
Jackson, MS - State House members approved legislation Thursday requiring a doctor's prescription to buy products like Claritin-D and Sudafed, which contain the key ingredient found in the illegal drug methamphetamine. By a 105-15 vote, House members said medicine containing the drug pseudoephedrine could be dispensed only after buyers produced a physician's prescription.
Colo. attorney general hones in on meth
Colorado Springs, CO - A big push to going on to crack down on meth in Southern Colorado. It's the focus for Attorney General John Suthers at the 36th Advanced International Winter Symposium in Colorado Springs. "We've attracted money in prevention campaigns to try and change youth's attitude," stated Suthers. "We do believe that we have convinced young people in Colorado that meth is a pernicious drug and has serious problems associated with it."
Parents accused of making meth while kids slept with dogs
Jackson County, MS - Two children are in state custody and their parents are charged with felony child abuse and manufacturing meth. Jackson County Narcotics agents arrested Christopher Stanley and his wife Valeria Williams after finding a 'shake and bake' meth lab in their home on Whites Farm Road in Hurley.
