Suspended sentence for mother of baby who died from meth poisoning
Sacramento, CA - A Sacramento woman is out of police custody after pleading no contest in the death of her 2-month-old daughter.
Maureen Hoffart was charged with endangering a child causing death.
In January 2008, Sacramento police and firefighters responded to a home on 38th Avenue and found the body of a baby girl.
A coroner's report determined the infant had lethal levels of methamphetamine in her system.
Hoffart pleaded no contest in return for a four-year suspended sentence.
Man in critical condition after meth lab explosion
St. Charles County, MO - A 29-year-old man from St. Charles County was critically injured Tuesday night in a methamphetamine explosion inside a garage, authorities said.
The garage of a home in the 900 block of Mallory Drive exploded about 10:35 p.m., authorities said. The house is in the Red Oak Estates subdivision near St. Peters.
