Missouri leads nation again in meth lab busts
Jefferson City, MO - The Quarterly reports for methamphetamine discoveries nationwide are out, and Missouri is number one by far.
From January through March, Missouri Law Enforcement made 462 meth busts and meth lab discoveries.

Kenmore, OH - A Kenmore man is accused of running a methamphetamine lab inside the home which he shares with his grandchildren.
Stephen P. Thomas, 54, of Eighth Street Southwest, was arrested Thursday by Akron police, who were responding to a citizen's tip of alleged meth manufacturing.
Thomas gave police consent to search his home and officers said they found chemicals, glassware, tubing and other items used to make methamphetamine inside the apartment.
Police said Thomas has two grandchildren, ages 14 and 6, living with him.
He was charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, assembly of chemicals, possession of methamphetamine, possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia.
Thomas was booked into the Summit County Jail this morning.
Hawaii launches youth meth prevention project
Kalihi, HI - The Hawaii Meth Project kicks off today at the Kalihi YMCA, citing a new survey that says 30 percent of Hawai'i teens believe there is no risk to trying meth, and 19 percent say it's readily available.
The statewide drug prevention project targets youths 12 to 17 years old and is aimed at reducing first-time methamphetamine use through a community outreach program and aggressive — some would say graphic — media campaign that begins today.
Toddlers exposed to mom's meth smoke
Dubuque, IA - A Dubuque woman was arrested on a child endangerment charge after police said she smoked methamphetamine in front of her 2- and 3-year-old children, according to court documents.
Sara S. Swift, 26, no permanent address, was arrested on a charge of child endangerment on May 13. After receiving a tip, police began an investigation into whether Swift used meth in front of her children at a Dubuque home. On Feb. 25, investigators met with Swift, who denied drug use and refused to give a urine or hair sample for testing, records state.
