Idaho Meth Project reaches out to minorities
Boise, ID - The Idaho Meth Project is targeting minority groups more than a year after the campaign was launched to steer teens and young adults away from methamphetamine through graphic TV, radio, print and billboard ads.
The Idaho campaign says it is discussing working with tribes to reach out to American Indians, a strategy used by the Montana Meth Project and commended by the Crow Tribe for addressing an issue that has become a big problem on many reservations.
Officers shut down meth ring that delivered to customers
Bakersfield, CA - A 30-year-old Bakersfield man and his 72-year-old father were arrested Wednesday, suspected of being part of one of Kern County's major methamphetamine rings.
The men were two of several arrested during raids in Bakersfield, Tehachapi, and California City.
The FBI told reporters Wednesday Armando Meza, was the "big fish" of the operation.
Man injured in suspected meth lab explosion dies
OK - The main suspect in a reported meth lab explosion has died as a result of the injures he sustained.
Michael Stephen Miller, 29, died at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, according to an obituary for Miller.
Camille Kay May, 22, of Bartlesville, was arrested last week in connection with the incident. She is currently facing charges of child endangerment.
Woman's suicide risk complicates extradition for meth crimes
United Kingdom - A woman facing extradition over claims she sold chemicals used in crystal meth to the US could commit suicide if the transfer goes ahead, a court has heard.
The warning came from lawyers of Kerry Ann Howes, 31, from Bo'ness, who are appealing against a sheriff court decision to extradite her.
