Meth lab found in city-owned building
FORT DODGE, Iowa - Authorities in Fort Dodge say they discovered a methamphetamine lab in a downtown Fort Dodge building owned by the city.
Police located the lab just before 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Officials say the city bought the building and an adjacent house in August as part of a downtown revitalization effort.
Family arrested for meth-dealing
Salem, OR - Six family members have been arrested in connection with a drug-dealing business that sold meth, police said. Together, they face 20 charges.
Three children, ages 8, 9 and 12, were taken into protective custody by the Department of Human Services, Salem police Lt. Jim Anglemier said.
Fire alarm reveals student housing meth lab
Harnett County, NC - Two men are under arrest following the discovery of a meth lab in student housing near Campbell University.
Harnett County Sheriff Larry Rollins said information about the incident was not released until the SBI's crime lab confirmed the liquid found inside the still-working lab was methamphetamine.
Sheriff Rollins said the men, Victor Wesley Evans Jr., 31, of Benson and Michael Stephen Cole, 29, of Siler City, were not Campbell students, but lived nearby at the time. He said students at the Buies Creek university were not endangered by the operation.
