NATIONAL METHAMPHETAMINE TRAINING & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER

The situation: The Deseret News - in an interview with
national Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske - reported that meth is the
No. 1 illegal drug of choice for all Utahns and accounts for
about 30% of the 19,000 admissions to public drug abuse
treatment programs. Use more recently has decreased, in
part because of a strong "End Meth Now" campaign. Still,
End Meth Now organizers say nearly three-quarters of women
in treatment are mothers ages 18 to 35.
