One person's recovery

My name is Crystal and I have been in recovery for two years now. My drug of choice was meth. I started using when I was 16 years old. And it never did end for me until I was given the chance of recovery. It is hard to do it on your own and for me that wasn't possible. I lost my first daughter due to me choosing men and drugs over her. When I had my second child she tested positive for meth. Her levels were so high they said the infant was shooting up meth. My reality set in for me. And I finally received help for my addiction. I was the person you would tell your kids to stay away from. I was the one lurking around your home to steal from you. I was the girl walking down the streets who was begging for money. For me my drug life at the time wasn't that bad, but now I see how I was a "terrorist" in our city. I'm coming up on my two-year birthday of being a pro-social citizen and a wonderful mother of two.
