Washington State was among the nation's
leaders a decade ago when it created the
Washington State Methamphetamine Initiative
and it's unique chain of county "meth action
teams."

Almost all of the state's 39 counties participate
in the initiative program which stresses prevention, treatment and enforcement through diverse community mobilization groups.

Since the initiative was founded, meth lab incidents in the state have dropped by almost 90%, families have been reunited and in many communities demand for methamphetamine has been dramatically reduced.
