More details on decades-old, family-run meth ring
WA - The leader of an international methamphetamine trafficking ring with cells in Woodland and Long Beach was sentenced Monday to seven years and four months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.
Herminio Barragan Mendoza, 36, of Olympia pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and being an alien in possession of a firearm.
Witness in meth case received threats
IN - A man awaiting trial in the Vanderburgh County Jail for alleged meth offenses may face additional charges for calling a witness and threatening her, according to an Evansville Police Department incident report.
David Michael Anthony Carter, 39, has been in jail since Jan. 21 on charges of dealing meth and possession of precursors. His bond is set at $15,000 cash.
Meth lab blaze displaces apartment residents
Kalamazoo, MI - A methamphetamine lab is believed to have sparked a fire late Tuesday that damaged a 30-unit building at Fox Ridge Apartments, police said.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers found heavy fire on the second floor of the building at 1509 Alamo Hills Drive after responding at 11:50 p.m. to a report of an apartment fire, a news release said.
Women admit guilt in dealing meth
Cheyenne, WY - Two more alleged members of a methamphetamine ring in Natrona County pleaded guilty to federal drug conspiracy charges Monday in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne.
Griselda Cortes-Nieto, 36, and Ana Antano-Villegas, 26, had pleaded not guilty to meth-related charges in March.
