The situation: Colorado ranks eighth in the
country for total number of methamphetamine
users, according to Colorado Attorney
General John Suthers, who chairs the state’s
Methamphetamine Task Force. Additionally,
in a recent survey, 38 percent of young adults
in Colorado report that meth is easy to get,
and 31 percent said they have been offered
the drug, according to the Colorado Meth
Project.
Meth in Colorado
-- The state is among the nation's top ten in
terms of methamphetamine seized by the
Drug Enforcement Administration. More than
66 kilograms (146 pounds) of meth was
interdicted in the state during 2010
-- Most of the meth that is intercepted comes from Mexico as its home cooked meth vanished. Number of meth labs busted by law enforcement (from Drug Enforcement Administration):

-- According to a 2009 Centers for Disease Control survey, 3.5% of Colorado high school students admitted to using meth at least once in their lifetime. Nationally the rate is 4.1%
Speaking of meth
"Abuse of methamphetamine brings a whole host of problems with it, particularly crimes such as burglaries and ID thefts. In Colorado, roughly two-thirds of all ID thefts are caused by methamphetamine users. Colorado ranks sixth in the country for ID theft."
