The situation: Florida has undertaken extensive
measures to combat methamphetamine, which
has impacted the majority of the state’s 67 counties.
Clandestine lab activity is rising (see below) and
meth seizures by the DEA were at five-year highs in
2009-2010 (see chart above).
The state crafted a major anti-meth program in 2007
and continues to follow it. A copy of the plan can be

Meth in Florida
-- After several years of decline, the number of meth labs
uncovered by law enforcement increased sharply in
2009 -- the latest available data. Meth lab interdictions:

-- In drug treatment facilities, cocaine and alcohol far
outstrip methamphetamine as the primary drug given
